Life Before Crawling

Justin and I were wondering how Tommy was getting around, because he would somehow go from one side of the room to the other and we never saw how he did it! Well, Justin caught it on tape, it's really cute how he gets things. He's crawling around better now, this was about a month or so ago.

Just A Little Update

So it is official, Justin got his orders today and we're going to Bamberg Germany. They changed it from the last city I mentioned. But now that it's on paper (and not just online) they can't change it, it's permanent. We're very excited!! Justin graduates July 10th, after that we're hoping to visit Arizona, and then report to Germany from there. As soon as we get there we'll post a lot of pictures!

So Tommy's favorite thing to do is watch cartoons. I try to limit it to only Baby Einstein videos but he really loves watching cartoons. Here is some proof (I couldn't fit the tv in there, but as you can see he's very concentrated)

Tommy got blessed 2 Sundays ago, and it was really good. We were waiting for the best time to do it, and we finally got our records transferred to our ward up here. Tommy started crying 1/2 way through, but it was really cute. He doesn't like strangers touching him! He's gotten to be very attached to Justin and I and the rest of our family. He gets very nervous around people he doesn't know. We're hoping that goes away in time.

We're doing well!

4 days of freedom

Brittney and I had a wonderful 4 day weekend. We did NOTHING!! absolutely nothing. It felt great. She and I have never had such a long weekend together since I joined the Army, and I was grateful to have been able to have my family here. Now here it is Tuesday and i have to go back to a recall formation. I hope that everyone has had a good Memorial day weekend. I know that for Brittney and I we could not have hoped for anything better then to sit around all weekend and watch movies and play games together. Next chance we get I think we're going to get out to this BBQ place in  Memphis and maybe to see Elvis' house. Tommy this weekend has been, well a hand full. I cant seem to get enough of it either. Right now Brittney and I are off to go shopping. Happy Memorial day.

Airline problems

I HATE the airlines they are so hard to get along with and they don't even care. I tried to buy a ticket for brittney to go home while I'm in the field for 7 days. I went online to buy the ticket about 6 weeks before the flight date. and they were running about $500 round trip. I had a travel voucher from the Crapy flight I bought for my dad and that would make it $350, a great price. So when i called they told me she couldn't use it because the voucher was for only for David Brooke. I was so mad! They told me that I would be able to use it any time, any where, for anyone. They lied! I brought this up to one of there Customer service representatives  and Quote, "I don't know what you mean, that person would have never said anything like that, the voucher is non-transferable. AAAAHHHhhhh!!! So angry! I just wanted to drop kick them in the head. I spoke with somebody new who would hopefully find me a Cheaper ticket and I did, $415! great now were good to go. I placed the ticket on hold to make sure that it was good with Brittney. so 2 days later i called back to buy the ticket. now they told me that I would be able to hold it for like 10 days. but I was wrong for believing them. Nope they told me that I was wrong for miss understanding. So then the price fro the same flight was now $598. That same hour I went online and paid $287 for brittney to fly out to AZ and back. We got lucky and maybe just maybe our flight wont be canceled or something like that. but the lesson is patience and rechecking your alternatives before you just ahead.

Lately Tommy has been moving around the house but never while we are watching. Not today though. I think we found out his method. We haven't even seen him get on his hands and knees yet but he found out how to move with the most awkward movements. look at the video.... NNNOOOOOoooo!! The video wont load so I'll post it later when it's working.

I had a happy mother's day, here's proof!

My Mother's Day was wonderful! I got to spend it with Justin and Tommy, and I couldn't ask for anything more. I woke up and Tommy gave me a present (as you can see in the picture) and Justin gave me a microwave ( I wanted one so bad!) and also a willow tree of a man and woman holding a baby. I loved it. Justin was really sweet and did all the chores today and even blow dryed my hair for me! =) It was also nice talking with my mom and my mom in law (both are wonderful moms).

Just Another Crappy Day

Today is Just another day at Redstone Arsenal. I'm beginning to think that nothing is going to change around here. I was phase four, meaning I only have a few more "privileges" then I did when I was in Basic Training. Now that brittney is here in Alabama and I'm still phase five I was hoping that I might be able to spend more time with her. Since I've been here I have seen a number of soldier come, screw up, do what they want, and leave. I have been here for 7 months and now I have been waiting permission to move in with Brittney now for 6 weeks. I'm tired of it. I want to be with my family every night but I have to sleep in the barracks with most of the other soldiers. I'm being treated like I'm one of the "New" privates. I'm tired of it. I thought the Army was about helping each other out, but it can't even take care of its own. I thought that my family and I would be taken care of because of the hardships we have faces and, we are going to face, but no they continually tell us ask me tomorrow when I might be in a better mood. so once again to day is just like any other. I get 4 hours with Brittney and Thomas and 5 hours of sleep, room inspection and school. It's just another day at Redstone Arsenal.
